Our new release of SOLABS QM10 (R10.10) is a massive update and will require some planning both from our SOLABS Team and from our clients. Here we will help you understand the different steps required for the update plan.
Step1 : Communication
By now, you should all have received an email concerning the availability of R10.10 and is probably what brought you to this article :) .
Specific documentation such as SICCs will be sent to you when scheduling the next steps and documentation will vary depending on if you use one, both, or none of the following options: Collaborative Review Interface (CRI) or Azure Single Sign-On (SSO).
Step2: Scheduling pre-update interventions
- CRI & SSO Clients :
- Step 2.1 - pre-update workshop : Clients using Azure SSO and/or the collaborative review option (CRI) will require an extra step to prepare the update. We will need to schedule a meeting with your IT team in order to prepare your own environment for the activation of the required options included in the update.
-
- Step 2.2-pre-update QM10 configurations : Once the workshop is completed, we will configure the changes within SOLABS QM10. this step is transparent and will have no downtime on your end.
- All clients
- Step 2.3 - New report installation : We will schedule some time to install new reports within your SharePoint environments. This will have no downtime on your end.
Step3: Prod to Val
- Your production data will be copied in validation. Please note that for security issues, it has been decided that from now on, all documents in Validation will be replaced by a dummy file. If you wish to keep your own documents in VAL, you will need to let us know.
Step4: Update in VAL
- Your Validation environment will be updated to 10.10 . Note that this step is usually done right after the prod-to-val step. The update can take up to a full day to be installed.
Step5: Testing
- A waiting time of 1 to 2 weeks will be given between the VALIDATION and PRODUCTION updates so that you may test the new features. If you have SSO activated, we will ask you to test the SSO connection with a few users in validation.
Step6: Update in PROD
- We will update your Production environment. In order to reduce the impact of the update, we will schedule this update by prioritizing our out of hour availability (usually last week end of every month) and try to leverage upcoming holidays.
Please let us know if you are willing to execute your production update during regular working hours.
