It is possible to upload a PDF in SOLABS QM10 as the original file of a document, though there are a few limitations to take into considerations when doing so.
If the document is to be used "as is" (without the SOLABS QM10 cover pages), there are no particular limitations, as long as the document Publishing Type is set to Published as editable.
If, on the other hand, the approved document needs to include the SOLABS QM10 cover pages (metadata and signature pages) and/or watermarks (i.e.: when the Publishing Type set to Published as not-editable), it is important to note that the file should not be protected.
This is because the cover pages and the watermarks are merged with the PDF file. When this file has been produced via the conversion engine (ex.: from .docx to .pdf), it takes the converted file and merge it with the cover pages to create the final file accessible to the user.
When the original file is a PDF it will not go through the conversion process if the file is protected or modifications on it are blocked.
If a PDF file has already been uploaded in a protected state, a new version of the document will have to be created with an unprotected version of the file.
