As of release 10.9.0, every client will have access to the possibility of creating and linking training assessments to training activities in SOLABS. This means that assessments such as quiz or exams, created in a system named Questionmark, can be linked to a training activity. When linked, the assessment becomes a “pre-requisite”, in addition to the reading of a procedure, or an on the job for training, for example, to be able to confirm a training.
Each client will have “super users” that will have access to the Questionmark system to create a bank of questions of different types (true/false, multiple choices, singles choice questions, etc, …) that are called ‘topics’. These topics can be used to create assessments and these assessments are linked in SOLABS to a training activity. Once linked, the assignee will have to complete the assessment when the training activity is accessed. It is not possible to record the training without the completion of the assessment with a successful result (Grade). If the trainee fails the assessment, the training is automatically reassigned and the assessment needs to be performed again.
This then gives the possibility to add an additional level of control on training. However, linking an assessment will remain optional and it will still be possible to create training without an assessment by selecting No for the field Assessment Required?. Thus, even though this new feature will be available and activated once updated to 10.9.0, it will have no impact on the current behavior of the system, and activities with or without an assessment will co-exist in SOLABS QM.
