Users who have the SOLABS System Administrator role can manage PDF Rendering Templates.
These templates are used to define additional items that can be added to the rendered PDF file (header and watermarks), based on the document type and/or the document's status.
Using these templates, users can define if the document's cover page (metadata + approval cycle) should be included, along with specific text for the page headers and/or watermarks.
To create a new PDF Rendering Template:
1- Go to the SETUP section and select Create PDF Rendering Template from the top-right quick-access menu:
2- Enter a name and a description for the template, and pick the document type(s) to which it should apply. (Note that since it is only possible to have one template for a specific document type, only the document types that have no assigned templates will be available.)
3- Determine if you want to have the SOLABS QM cover pages appended to the PDF file or not
4- Select the desired document status(es) and then enter the text you wish to have displayed as a Header and/or a watermark in the converted PDF file.
Note that you can use the "Quick Text" link to have a few default recommendations.
(The content of those lists can also be updated by modifying the custom lists System_List_PDF_Header_Quick_Text and System_List_PDF_Watermark_Quick_Text).
SOLABS QM10 provides some placeholders for the headers and watermarks that are automatically replaced by the system when the document is converted. Refer to this article for the complete list of supported placeholders.
5- If you wish to have different headers/watermarks for different statuses, you can click on the +ADD button to add a new block, where you can pick another document status and enter different text for the header and/or watermark.
6- Submit when done.
To test that your PDF Rendering Template is working, access a document of the appropriate document type/status, then open the file and confirm that everything is as defined.
