SOLABS QM Reporting Infrastructure

The SOLABS QM10 software offers a rich infrastructure for building and publishing reports. It leverages the power of third-party applications such as Microsoft: Integration service, Reporting service, and SharePoint.

Datasets

To simplify access to data, we offer a set of datasets that exposes the system data from the system. We use the industry standard ETL approach to create a set of tables containing valuable information for our clients. The datasets are refreshed, they pull the information from the SOLABS QM10 software, once every 24 hours.

Reports

The datasets can be visualized using two different technologies: Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Reports.

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel reports are stored in the SOLABS QM Report portal based on the Microsoft SharePoint technology. Reports can be viewed and refreshed from MS Excel or Excel services if you are a hosted client. From there on you can manipulate the data at will and save your report under a new name to keep it over time. We provide one MS Excel report per dataset table.

SSRS Reports

The SSRS reports are also stored in the SOLABS QM Reporting portal and come with a variety of features to meet your reporting needs.

The following features are available

Data alerts:	By creating data alerts on reports, you can monitor changes in report data and send data alert messages by email when report data follow rules that define data of interest to you and others, and at intervals that meet your business needs.
Subscriptions:	A report subscription is a reporting snapshot generated on a defined, scheduled time and delivered to the intended audience by the report server.
Report exports:	SSRS reports can be exported in multiple different file formats: XML, CSV, PDF, Excel, TIFF, Word, and MHTMML.

Reporting development tools

Clients can create their own reports using the reporting tools provided by Microsoft: Report Builder or Visual Studio. SOLABS can provide a copy of your reporting table so you can build your reports based on the datasets table structure provided in the reporting offering.
