In SOLABS QM10, there are many places where performing an action requires a Reason for Change to be entered. Often, the reason for the change may be similar for different situations, such as modifying information, adding information, or deleting information.
To either standardize the entries in the Reason for Change field or to simply make it easier to enter the information, a Quick Text option is available. Quick Text is a configurable Custom List that allows you to pull up a standardized list of entries.
The Custom List for the Reason for Change field is found in the SETUP section. It is called System_List_Reason_for_Change and can be modified by a user who has the SOLABS Document Administrator role.
This list can then be edited to include different reasons why a change is being made. See some examples below:
Clicking on the QuickText option under the Reason for Change field will open and display the list of values. You can then click on one of those values if it relates to your change, rather than typing all the information into the field manually. You can also select one, and then add additional information if needed. This list will be displayed throughout the application wherever a Reason for Change field is to be filled out.
The use of standardized values for your Reason for Change entries, not only helps ease data entry but can also be used to help trend and track how many changes were made for the same reason.
