In SOLABS QM10, it is possible to link different items to other items to create references, to add a Reason for Change, to link a specific SOLABS document to a task or a training, etc...
The following links are possible:
In a Document:
- Linking another document as a Reference
- Linking another document that is going to be Superseded by this main document
- Linking a Process as a Reason for Change
In a Process:
- Linking a Document (an external document or a document from within SOLABS)
- Linking another Process
- Have tasks created as Secondary Tasks from the process
- Have processes started from within the process as a Dependent process
In a Training Activity:
- Linking a Document (an external document or a document from within SOLABS)
- Linking a Process
In a Task:
- Linking a Document (an external document or a document from within SOLABS)
- Linking a Process
In all cases above, the linked items will appear in different tables in the Related Items section of the item where they have been linked (note: the fact that the linked items are visible in the Related Items section depends on the privileges of the user who is viewing the page with linked items). In all cases above, once an item is linked, there is also a 'bi-directional' link created. This means that when accessing the page of the item that is linked to another one, the item where this one is linked will also be displayed in the Related Items section in different tables.
These are the tables that can be displayed in the Related Items section when an item is linked to another one:
Table Name | When |
Related Documents | When a document is linked to a Process, a Task, or a Training Activity. |
Related Processes | When a process is linked to another Process, a Task, a Training Activity, or started from within another process as a Related process. |
Reason for Change | When a process is linked to a document as a Reason for Change. |
Secondary Tasks | When a task is created from within a process. |
Dependent Processes | When a Process is started from within another process as a Dependent process. |
References | When a document is linked as a Reference Document to another document |
Supersedes | When a document is linked as a Superseded Document to another document |
These are the tables that can be displayed in the Related Items section when accessing an item that is linked to another one (bi-directional links):
Table Name | When |
Related Training Activities | When a document or a process is linked to a training activity (when accessing the document or the process page). |
Related Tasks | When a document or a process is linked to a task (when accessing the document or the process page). |
Related Processes | When a document is linked to a process (when accessing this document page). |
Related Training Activities | When a document or a process is linked to a training activity (when accessing the document or the process page). |
Linked in the Following Processes | When a process is linked to another process (when accessing the linked process page). |
Linked as a Reason for Change in the Following Document | When a process is linked to a document as a reason for change (when accessing this process page). |
Dependent Process Of | When a process has been started from another process as a dependent process (when accessing this dependent process page) |
Main Related Process | When a task is created as a secondary task from a process (when accessing this task page). |
Referenced by | When a document is linked as a reference to another document (when accessing the reference page). |
Referenced by | When a document is linked as a supersede to another document (when accessing the supersede document page). |
Training Activities for this Document | When a document is linked in a training activity as the curriculum document (when accessing this document page). |
IMPORTANT NOTES:
√ It will be possible to REMOVE an item that has been linked to another item ONLY from the item where the link has been created. This means that, for example, if process A has been linked to process B (so process B is the item where the link has been created), it will be possible to remove the link in process B only. It is not possible to remove a link in the ‘bi-directional’ item page.
√ In a Process, if documents or processes are linked while the process is opened, it will NOT be possible to REMOVE these links once the process is COMPLETED.
