Environment
- Product: SOLABS QM10
- Area: System Notifications / User Preferences
- Configuration: Notification preferences are managed in the Email Notifications tab of the Setup section.
Issue / Symptoms
Users receive — or expect to receive — email notifications from SOLABS QM10 and need to understand:
- Which notifications are sent and under what conditions
- Which notifications can be disabled by the user and which cannot
- How notification behavior is influenced by a user's role and system preferences
Cause
SOLABS QM10 sends automated email notifications to inform users of actions they must perform or events that are relevant to them. The notifications are triggered by two distinct mechanisms:
- Event-based notifications — sent when a specific action or system event occurs (e.g., a review cycle is initiated, a training assignment is issued)
- Date-based notifications — sent on or around a specific date (e.g., a deadline reminder)
The subset of notifications a user receives depends on:
- The user's role within the system
- The preference settings configured in the Email Notifications tab of the Setup section
Resolution
Understanding Notification Types
SOLABS QM10 notifications are categorized as follows:
Notifications sent on a specific Event These are triggered automatically when a defined system event occurs. Examples of events include:
- Participation required in a review or approval cycle
- A training assignment requiring confirmation
Notifications sent on a specific Date These are triggered on or around a configured date. Examples include:
- Upcoming deadline reminders
- Document or certification expiry notices
Managing Notification Preferences
Some notifications can be disabled by the user; others are mandatory and cannot be turned off.
To review or update notification preferences:
- Log in to SOLABS QM10.
- Navigate to the Setup section.
- Select the Email Notifications tab.
- Review the list of available notifications.
- Enable or disable notifications as permitted by your user role and system configuration.
- Save your changes.
Note: Notifications that are mandatory (non-disableable) will not present a toggle or disable option. These are typically tied to compliance-critical workflows such as approval cycles or mandatory training confirmations.
Additional Information
- Notification preferences are role-dependent. System administrators may have access to configure notifications on behalf of other users or at the organization level.
- For a full reference of notification titles and email contents, consult the notification tables provided in the SOLABS QM10 Administrator Guide or contact SOLABS Support.
- Changes to notification preferences take effect immediately upon saving.
