Every month, SOLABS gathers user count data for each of our clients.
What information is gathered and when?
We record the count of the following type of users:
- Standard
- Train IDs
- External
Information is gathered on the 16th of each month.
What is the purpose of gathering this information?
Invoicing purposes
SOLABS doesn't enforce a mechanism of licensed users, meaning a client can activate as many accounts as they need without notifying SOLABS over the course of a full year. There is no need to buy a license pack or enter codes to unlock a bulk of licenses.
On the other hand, our invoicing is based on a per-user model, and therefore we need to have reports on user's utilization. When billing, we take the average amount of users over the last 3 months prior to invoicing as the official user count for the year ahead.
Trending purposes
The reports also serve for trending purposes: what type of users are mostly enabled by clients, and by which category of clients, where do we see extension / contractions, etc. .
Backend licenses
To operate our QM10 solution as a SaaS (Software as a Service), we use other software components, some of them have monthly fees based on user counts. More on our global service architecture HERE.
