"Edit Online" Option Unavailable for Document in Collaborative Review

Environment

Issue / Symptoms

A user with Collaborative Review access and SharePoint access is unable to use the Edit Online option for a document currently in authoring. 

Cause

The user does not have Modify privileges on the document currently in authoring. Without Modify privileges, the Edit Online option is not available, regardless of whether the user has Collaborative Review or SharePoint access enabled.

Resolution

1. Confirm the document is currently in the Authoring stage.
2. In SOLABS QM10, navigate to the document's Privileges/view settings.
3. Verify the affected user's role and privilege level on the document.
4. If appropriate, ask a SOLABS QM10 administrator to grant the user Modify privileges by modifying the documents privileges and giving one of the users role the modify privilege.
5. Ask the user to refresh their session and attempt to access the document again via the shared link.
6. Confirm that the Edit Online option is now visible and functional.

Note: Collaborative Review access and SharePoint access are necessary but not sufficient conditions for using Edit Online. Document-level Modify privileges must also be assigned.
