The search engine in SOLABS QM10 is a powerful tool that can be used to retrieve very specific information.
The easiest way to benefit from its potential is to use the Search Queries.
By expanding each topic, more details can be added to the search, producing a more accurate result.
For example, if a user would like to search for a keyword inside a set of document types, they could type the keyword in the search box, and then expand the Type item under Document Search in the Search tab, and then select the desired document types to filter on.
Alternatively, typing the following query directly in the search field would also generate the same result.
keyword AND dt:("Document Type 1" OR "Document Type 2")
As another example, if a user wanted to see which process of a specific type is currently at a step assigned to them, they could expand the Currently With item under Process Search and select "Myself" and then expand the Process Type item and select the desired process.
Alternatively, the same result could be achieved by typing this query directly in the search field:
pname:("Process Name") AND actors:"*username;*"
Tip: If you have saved queries and you bring the focus to the search field, you can select it and the query string will be automatically filled in the search field for you.
This can be a nice way to learn the search engine's specific syntax and to fine-tune the original search query to get even more precise information.
