In SOLABS QM10, it is possible to Duplicate a Curriculum and the related Training Activities. This allows a SOLABS Training Administrator to access a curriculum and copy its attributes and the attributes of the Training Activities to a new Curriculum. This can be useful when the settings are identical for many document-related or stand-alone Training Activities. You will then just need to modify and set some specific attributes once it is duplicated.
To Duplicate a Curriculum, access the curriculum you want to copy. On the right-hand Curriculum Actions menu, choose the Duplicate option.
You will then be directed to a page where two (2) date fields will be presented:
The Duplicated Curriculum Start Date will be set by default to today's date. You will need to also select a Duplicated Activities Estimated Start Date. Both of these dates can be modified later.
When you then click Confirm the Curriculum>View page for the new Curriculum will be displayed. The copied Training Activities will be listed at the bottom in the Training Activities section.
On the right-hand Curriculum Actions menu, choose the Modify option to make any required edits for the duplicated fields and add any additional information. Similarly, after clicking View next to the Training Activities, you can choose the Modify option to update duplicated fields and add any additional information.
What is duplicated?
❶ Curriculum:
The values of the following attributes of the Curriculum are duplicated:
- The Name: will be set as following: [Name of Original_Curriculum] [Date duplicate is initiated + time (with milliseconds)]
- The Categories (Activities)
- The Description
- The Start Date (set as per selected in the Duplicate page)
- The Default Completion Requirement
- The Default Pass Rate (if applicable)
- The Second Confirmation requirement allowed by (default)
- The Number of completed activities to be trained on this curriculum
- The Suggested Trainers
◊◊◊ If the Recurrence setting for the original Curriculum is set as Document Revision, the Curriculum Document will NOT be duplicated and the Recurrence will default to No recurrence for the duplicated Curriculum. This allows you to change that setting to Document Revision and link a different Curriculum Document for the new Curriculum.
❷ Training Activities:
When a Curriculum is duplicated, all the Training Activities within that curriculum are also duplicated, regardless of their status.
The values of the following attributes of the Training Activities are duplicated:
- The Status: will default to Not Started so that you can make any necessary changes
- The Name: will be set as follows: [Name of Original_Activity]_[Date duplicate is initiated + time (with milliseconds)]
- The Category
- The Description
- The Purpose
- The Method of Instruction
- The Method of Evaluation
- The Estimated Duration
- The Cost
- The Estimated Start Date (set as per selected in the Duplicate page)
Completion Requirement End Users
- The Completion Requirement
- The Pass Rate (if applicable)
- The Second Confirmation Assignee(s) (if applicable)
Completion Requirement Trainers
- The Completion Requirement
Impact on other parameters:
- If applicable, the Trainers assigned for the Training Activities are copied
- The Job Title Profiles (Function Roles) linked to the Training Activities are copied
- The End-Users assigned to the Training Activity are NOT copied so will need to be added back using the Assign End Users option after making any changes to the linked Function Roles.
Once duplicated, ALL of the parameters of the Curriculum and of the Training Activities that have been copied will all be modifiable and the Curriculum used to create the duplicate will NOT be affected by this action.
